Dr Gibson has been an outstanding Physics tutor for my son over the past academic year, supporting him with his preparation for A-level Physics.

When my son first started lessons with Dr Gibson, there were areas of the subject where his knowledge and confidence needed considerable improvement. Over the course of the year, the progress has been remarkable. Mr Gibson has significantly raised his overall level in Physics, not simply by preparing him to answer examination questions, but by helping him develop a much deeper and more structured understanding of the subject.

One of Dr Gibson’s greatest strengths is his ability to identify exactly where a student’s difficulties lie. He does not simply work through the syllabus mechanically; he makes sure that the underlying concepts are genuinely understood and then teaches the student how to apply that knowledge to unfamiliar and challenging problems. This has been particularly valuable for A-level preparation, where understanding the physics behind a question is just as important as remembering formulas.

His lessons have always been focused, intellectually challenging and extremely productive. He has also paid close attention to examination technique and to the particular way in which A-level questions need to be approached.

We have seen a very substantial improvement in both our son’s knowledge and his confidence in Physics during the year. Most importantly, Dr Gibson has given him a strong foundation which will remain valuable well beyond the examinations themselves.

I would also particularly like to mention Dr Gibson’s qualities as a person. He is exceptionally responsible, supportive, patient and genuinely committed to his students. He has always been very accommodating when lessons have needed to be rearranged around school examinations and other commitments, and his communication with us as parents has been excellent. It is very clear that he genuinely cares about his students’ progress and wants them to achieve their full potential.

We are extremely grateful to Dr Gibson for everything he has done for our son over the past year. I would recommend him without hesitation to any family looking for a highly knowledgeable, dedicated and supportive Physics tutor, particularly for A-level preparation
